The Star and Garter dates back to the 1800’s as a coaching house and was a public house until 2018 when it was closed down.  It has now been bought and plans have been submitted by The Kirkby Overblow Community Hub CIO to convert it into a community facility with the potential for bedrooms to be let out.
 

The aim is to repair and renovate the building and provide a multi-purpose indoor space for community use for all residents and visitors to make use of and enjoy.
 

North Yorkshire Council will make a decision on the proposal at a later date.
